Tech Data Introduces Simplified Product Return Policy

Beginning August 1, 2008, Tech Data will implement a simplified 30-day product return policy for all items covered by a manufacturer's returns policy.

The policy provides 30 days from the invoice date to the issuance of a Return Authorization (RA). Plus, the policy extends an additional 30 days for receipt of the item in our logistics centre.

This change consolidates multiple, disparate guidelines into a single, standardized policy for all returns. Not only will this make our policies easier for you to understand, you'll receive faster responses to your return requests and more efficient processing of account credit.

The simplified policy will be implemented into Tech Data's web-based Returns Module, enabling you to process more of your product returns online to receive faster turnaround.

Please be aware that a limited number of manufacturers require pre-authorization for product returns. If you wish to return these manufacturers' products, you can help ensure your return is processed promptly and accurately by obtaining the required pre-authorization from the manufacturer before you request an RA from Tech Data.

Additionally, certain product returns require serial number confirmation prior to an RA being issued. If the manufacturer's return policy does not allow a product to be returned, then the item will not be returnable to Tech Data. Any item returned outside of these guidelines will be returned to you.
